This Freedom Friday – Veteran Outdoor Adventures

If you live in Oregon or are visiting check out his page!! Y’all know I love to support veterans and getting them outdoors which is the purpose of his page and business! He started his blog to help show that PTSD can be handled and to help get veterans outdoors.

What branch did you serve in?

Oregon Army National Guard

Tell a little about yourself.

I spent 12 years in the infantry, culminating in an 18-month deployment to Baghdad Iraq in 04/05. I came home with a severe case of PTSD and ultimately the outdoors and a lot of group therapy gave me a new life.

What is your business/organization/blog name and what your business/organization/blog is about?

My blog is Veteran Outdoor Adventures and is just on FB and Insta. The purpose of this blog is to 1) To show that a good life can be lived with PTSD and 2) to hopefully inspire and motivate another veteran to do something, anything that might help give them a mental break and help lift them, even if just for a moment.

What led you to this journey?

Combat and my own PTSD journey of inpatient and outpatient therapy and the new life that I have built with a new direction.

What is one thing you have learned from the service that you use in your business/ organization/blog?

Lol probably timeliness. I’m pretty well known for being early. So much so that if I’m not, people have actually called looking for me before the meetup time!
